To provide training or employment for individuals who are blind or visually-impaired, to facilitate independence and to give them self-reliance in all aspects of their lives.

Who We Are

For more than 80 years, Mississippi Industries for the Blind (MIB) has been creating opportunity through meaningful work. Since 1942, our mission has been to provide training and employment for Mississippians who are blind or visually impaired, helping people build skills, independence, and self-reliance. Today, our talented workforce carries that mission forward by manufacturing quality American-made products and providing valuable services to government, military, institutional, commercial, and other customers.

Our capabilities include sewing and textile production, industrial webbing and straps, cellulose sponge products, robotic welding, metal stamping and assembly, along with document imaging and conversion, document destruction, and contact center services. MIB is also an ISO 9001:2015 certified organization, reflecting our commitment to quality products and dependable service. But what makes our work especially meaningful is the opportunity behind it. Every product we manufacture and every service we provide helps support meaningful employment and greater independence for people who are blind or visually impaired.
